Modern melting shop
The melting shop consists of three OTTO JUNKER furnaces with a capacity of 7 Mg. The last furnace was installed in 2019.
Control of metallurgical quality of metal – ATAS program
(vendor – Novacast, Sweden):
ATAS Verifier is an advanced system for analyzing the quality of liquid cast iron. It takes a metallurgical fingerprint and correlates it with the current result, providing metallurgists with the information to verify and optimize the melting process. The unique system interprets the cooling curves, explains the conclusions, and suggests corrective actions.
ATAS SFERO – MODULE
Analyses the state of the cast iron output and calculates the exact amount of required Mg master alloy. The system estimates active oxygen, active carbon equivalent ACEL, nucleation status and other metallurgical parameters.
Module analyses the pearlite transformations in the temperature range 600–800°C, and determines the pearlite content in the matrix and the mechanical parameters such as Brinell hardness, and Rm – tensile strength.
The spheroidization process
- Magnesium-cored-wire treatment station produced by PROGELTA (production year: 2012, Italy)
- Spheroidisation station in a slender ladle (TUNDISH method) using master alloys
